The philosophy of learning embodied in the curriculum is summarized as follows:

  • Every fact in the universe is conditioned by God who is both Creator and Lord.
  • Every life is valuable in God’s sight and equipped with gifting and potential that needs  encouragement and development on a daily basis.
  • Highlands Christian Grammar uses Australian Curriculum for English, Maths and Science.  The Papua New Guinea Curriculum is used for some of the other subjects.  Baptist Curriculum is used for Christian Studies.
  • Christian beliefs and values are imbedded throughout all learning areas.  The Word of God is integrated in all aspects of school life, from prayer at the commencement of the day to the foundations of our policy formation.
